A Biology Modeling Workshop covering the first half of Biology I.

Description: In this biology Modeling Instruction workshop we will develop, deploy, and test models of Experiment Design, Water Chemistry, Energy, and Cells. Selected AMTA Biology units align with AP Biology Units 1-3, IB Biology Themes 2 and 3, and are applicable to various NGSS biology and middle school life science standards. Biology, chemistry, and life science teachers all are welcome and will benefit from this workshop. Location: St. Andrews Boarding School, 3900 Jog Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33434 Dates: July 21-25, 2025 Costs: $750.00 ( includes lunch) Housing: Sonesta Select. 2000 NW Executive Center Circle, Boca Raton, FL 33431, 561-241-7070 Graduate level credits: Graduate level credit is available of the University of the Pacific ($79 each, to be paid directly to UoP)Meet the Leaders: C.J. Geraci Christy Jo (CJ) Geraci has been taking AMTA workshops since 2017. Modeling Instruction has improved her teaching of biology, chemistry, and physics in Virginia, Arizona, and Louisiana. Before pivoting to K-12 education, she earned a PhD in entomology at Clemson University, completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Smithsonian and NSF, and was an Assistant Professor at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. She currently teaches physics and anatomy & physiology at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge.
