A brief Introduction to Modeling Instruction in Chemistry with Janelle Hollingshead A brief Introduction to Modeling Instruction in Chemistry with Janelle Hollingshead Dates: July 16-17, 2022 Janelle Hollingshead taught for 13 year in Chicago Public Schools where she specialized in teaching lower level chemistry and working with students with IEPs. For the past three years Janelle has worked at Sevastopol High School in a rural area where she teaches 9th grade physical science, 11th grade chemistry, advanced physics, and advanced chemistry. Janelle got her national board certification 10 years ago and she is recertified for another ten years. Since learning about modeling from Gary Abud at Chem Ed in 2008 she has gone to 7 two week modeling workshops herself, she has lead 2, semester long, online Intro to Modeling classes, and a few two day workshops at various schools. She has also run a free drop in support group for modeling teachers on Saturday for the past year. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, singing, yoga, and hanging out with her family.
