Webinar series: MS science series focusing on Great Lakes with Gary Abud

Gary Abud will share his middle school science series focusing on the Great Lakes.

On April 29, 7 pm EDT, 6 pm CDT, 5 pm MDT, 4 pm PDT and Arizona, Gary Abud will present on his middle school science series focusing on the Great Lakes, a collaboration between Gary and PBS.

Engage students in modeling earth and physical science phenomena through the exploration of the Great Lakes with a collection of lessons from PBS Learning Media created by Modeler Gary Abud, Jr. Learn how to utilize the interactive, digital and hands on activities available in this collection to allow students to explore the physical features of the Great Lakes and some of the contemporary issues facing their ecosystems. By attending this webinar, you will gain an overview of the lesson collection available through PBS Learning Media, how it fits with Modeling Instruction to teach earth science topics, and ways to engage students in the classroom with these blended-learning lessons and resources. 

About the presenter:
Gary Abud, Jr. is an award-winning educator, author of Science With Scarlett, and an educational consultant in private practice near Detroit, MI. He has used Modeling Instruction in physics, chemistry and biology since 2008, teaching high school in Michigan as well as Arizona, and he has facilitated multiple Modeling Workshops in Michigan. He lives with his wife and kindergarten daughter, and has recently been focusing his work on early childhood education to apply Modeling Instruction approaches to teaching science to the youngest of students—including his book which models the color mixing of light.
