Bill Canham is the host and co-leader of a three-week mechanics Modeling Workshop at Hong Kong International School, June 19-July 7, 2017
William (Bill) Canham is a National Board certified teacher, currently teaching at Hong Kong International School and has been using Modeling InstructionTM for the last eight years. He teaches Honors Physics and General Physics and has taught AP Physics, IB Physics, Physical science, and GCSE science in the past.
Bill will host and lead the 3 week workshop with Eric Larson. Eric Larson has been a teacher of Physics, Chemistry, and Physical Science for 20 years. He participated in his first Modeling Workshop in 1997 and has been a Modeler ever since. This is his second time co-leading a Modeling Workshop. Eric currently teaches IB Physics and Modeling Chemistry at Fridley High School in the state of Minnesota in the United States. Hong Kong International School (HKIS) is an international Christian private school in Tai Tam and Repulse Bay, Hong Kong. The school was founded in 1966. Today, HKIS spans from reception one to the twelfth grade. Its Lower and Upper Primary Divisions and the Middle and High Schools are located in Tai Tam. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges has continuously accredited Hong Kong International School since 1971 and HKIS received the WASC accreditation in 2013. Date: June 19-July 7, 2017 Location: 1 Red Hill Rd, Tai Tam, Hong Kong Costs: US $ 900 for a 90 hour workshop. (room and board not included). Snacks and lunch is included in the tuition costs as well as a one-year AMTA membership. Participants are responsible to travel and housing costs. The host is working on discounts for Y-Loft and possibly housing at the school (on a first come, first serve base).A local transportation card (Octopus card) will be provided) A minimum of 12 participants have to be registered by DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 17, 2017 Registration will be considered complete upon receipt of payment. Payment should be made by bank draft (check) in U.S. Dollars and made out to AMTA (please add Hong Kong in a comment). |
