I have a multitrunk red oak with several perfectly round holes in the trunk (approximately 1/4 inch in diameter and at least 1 inch deep). I did not see any bugs on the tree. The holes could pass those made by a drill. Can anyone help to identify what might be the source of these holes and a course of action?
