I have a 8 x 30 bed of brassica - Collards, Kale and Broccoli. They have been thriving for months. I have been amazed how much we get every week!

Two weeks ago it looked like they were not recovering well and we have not taken much, if any at all. The past few days it became apparent that the plants were not doing well. No new growth and the leaves started wilting without discoloring. Today we started pulling up the Kale and broccoli and found that all the stems were hollow and rotten inside.

We garden organically, Have not had much rain for the past month so we use the hose. I have been unable to determine what it is from any of the books I have or anywhere on the web.

Again the symptoms are on full grown, mature plants that have been thriving for weeks. Suddenly they stopped growing, the leaves wilted without turning color, the stems are hollow and rotten inside. Some of the broccoli branches even tore off the stems. The roots appear normal, no evidence of club root.

Does anyone have any Idea what it might be and what the cure might be?

It's too hot for those plants now.
