Have a St Augustine and Bermuda lawn in Ft Worth. This weed is stiff, wiry, horizontal grower with long, low tendril of dark bluish green that pull up easily. It has gotten into the St Augustine but is more prevalent in the bermuda areas not yet taken over by the St Augustine. What is it, and will my St Augustine chole it out? I have pulled 14 paper grocery sacks full in last 5 days

I'm with you. I have no idea what the stuff is called, but I've pulled up a ton of it, along with the poa annua, which is more vertical growing and clumpy. I'm hoping that CGM next month will help keep it from coming back.

Nice to know someone else has and haspulled loads it out of their yard. So far, I have learned it is not Johnson grass, Coastal Bermuda, or Buffalo grass. I'm new to Ft Worth, but understand it is common around here; they say my mother-in-law used to call it Water grass. I would still like to know what it is and if pulling it out is the the only or best solution.
