Hello. I just bought my first home and thought I did great planting my first garden. I didn't! I dug out a few inches down, put in new soil, and planted my flowers. Now the entire area is covered in weeds and grass. How can I get rid of the weeds and grass without killing my flowers? Is it possible or will I have to start over?

Cover it with mulch and let the weeds root into the mulch. Pulling weeds out of mulch is much easier than pulling them out of soil. Moisten the mulch before you pull the weeds out.

If you are going to garden in other areas, please write in here first for advice. What you did was a waste of time, in my opinion. ANY soil can be reclaimed very easily with the proper organic care.

Hello. Thanks for the advice! However, I need to know how to stop the grass from growing in that area(as well as weeds). If it was just a few weeds I had to pull it wouldn't be a problem. Would mulch stop the grass from coming through?
