I'd like to make the transition to organic. How do I get started? Should I have the soil analyzed? My yard is bermuda and I live in the Argyle area. The yard has gone dormant but I am seeing some creeping charlie and clover. How can I nip it in the bud.

I apologize for all the questions but I am a new member and anxious to get started.

Also, go back to the main page and look for links to Howard's organic printouts that give you wonderful information. You should also check out the very informative books that Howard has about organics in general, vegetables, herbs and tree for Texas and how to identify beneficial insects.

Picking the appropriate forum will help you get your specific questions answered more quickly. Let us know how we can help!

If you're wanting to go the easiest route, I'd try lasagna gardening. No digging, you control what goes in the soil, and the weeds are almost non-existent. That's all I am doing this year, as I sustained a foot injury and can't run around as easily as usual.
