Just pulled my Okra plants and tilled my raised organic garden. Some of the Okra two of the plants had numerous cream colored knarly surfaced growths on them.

I did a bit of online searching an I think what they might be is nematodes. I seem to have heard that "benificial nematodes" are an effective method of dealing with this problem.

Any other suggestions on what I might do prior to planting my winter corps?

Most people under an organic program never complain about root knot nematodes. If you have not been using organic fertilizer and/or molasses on the soil, you should start. I'm saying this because it seems many people think compost is all you need to be organic. For individual plants, scatter a heaping handful of fertilizer (corn, soy, coffee grounds, alfalfa, etc.) under the canopy of the plant every month. Spray every surface of the tops of the plants every other week with liquid seaweed or milk (any kind) at a rate of 2 ounces per gallon of water.
