October-2012 We lost 2 trees that were protecting Asian Jasmine from the summer sun. How long will it take for the Jasmine to acclimate to the sunshine/heat of the Dallas summer? Must we replace the trees or are the fall and spring seasons enough to acclimate the Jasmine and save it? To all you experienced gardeners: Help Please!

Asian jasmine is a mostly shade ground cover. It may never acclimate to the sun.

Thanks for the most helpful confirmation. We went round and round making the decision because we've seen so many "sun" recommendations and have seen it growing successfully in the sun. For our Jasmine, we did replace the trees since we don't want to lose the Jasmine. The last one goes in tomorrow. Expensive, but losing the Jasmine would have been worse.

Same thing happened to us. Our jasmine is fine. In San Antonio there is puh-LENTY of jasmine growing in full sun.
