Found these shell remnents (see pic below) in my Arlington, Texas suburban yard. Evidence of snails/grubs?
Whatever these pest are (I think they are dormant now) I would like to kill them before I resod in mid-October with new St. Augustine (don't want the sod ruined come spring). What would you recommend to get rid of these pests?

In the picture of my front yard you can see the burmuda grass - not exactly a lush lawn. Can I cut this as low as possible and sod (St. Augustine) over it? I watched Howard's video and I know he had his old (mix of grasses) stuff removed by manual labor before resodding with SA.

Thanks

Sluggo will work on them. Howard uses it and says it works very well.

Thanks for the pest confirmation. Do you see any problem with laying new sod
down in mid-October?

I'm not the best source on lawn and sod information, but there is a fellow who answers those questions regularly. Search on messages posted by Dchall_San_Antonio (David Hall) on the Lawns Forum, or repost your question there: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/newforum/root/viewforum.php?f=14
