We have a conventional septic system on about 5 acres, but unfortunately it was designed to come out more close than far away from the house, IMO. I was wondering if there are any plants that I could plant on that marshy area that could somehow filter and clean that water and soil AND be nice to look at as well? Like maybe turn that gross area into a "pseudo garden" with a little fence around it and no one would know...other than the smell, ugh! Thanks so much- Melissa Miller

I don't think you're supposed to be able smell your septic tank field at work - I'd have someone check on it before doing anything out there. You might have a break in the line and it isn't working right at all. That could be dangerous.
