I have a bottle of an organic Chai tea concentrate. I was wondering if I could use it as a plant fertilizer. The ingredients are as follows: Water, evaporated cane juice, brewed black tea, wildflower honey, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, cardamon, black pepper, clove, citric acid |

I purchase this product all of the time (for drinking!) and it is basically sugar and several spices. There is nothing I foresee causing any problem within the organic program, as well as the sugar will probably stimulate microbial activity. I assume this would be equivalent to liquid molassas. But the question is why would you want to dump it? That is tasty stuff when heated with milk. |

It is past the expiration date and I am afraid to drink it. I didn't want to throw it away if I could find another use for it. |

It should not hurt anything in the soil. It will not fertilize anything either. If you are concerned, use it in a compost pile where it can decompose for a few months before spreading it out. |
