A total of 11 ounces of the 4 components of the Garrett juice (one cup of tea and 1 ounce each of vinegar, seaweed, and mollasses) is mixed with one gallon of water. What area of coverage should be sprayed with this one gallon?

A previous writer to this forum said that he uses 3 gallons of the tea in a backpack sprayer and covers his 7,000 square feet yard. This must mean that he mixes 3 gallons of the concentrate and then adds that to water at the rate of 11 ounces per gallon (see above) because 3 gallons of total mixture will not cover 7,000 square feet. If the 3 gallons is concentrate and the 7,000 square feet coverage is correct, then apparently 11 ounces of the concentrate mixed with one gallon of water will cover 200 square feet,. i.e. 11/384 x 7,000 = 200. The 384 is the number of ounces in 3 gallons.

Does anyone agree or disagree with this?

We only use a gallon at a time (and mix additional gallons if we need them).

Our backyard plot is approx. 20' x 40' and, if I'm foliar feeding (using a fine mist), I can do the entire plot with one gallon, plus putting a little bit on the foliage of our small peach tree.

If, however, I am using the Garrett Juice as a soil drench (which I don't do very often because of expense) your calculation is about right -- 200 sq. ft.

I hope that helps. Happy gardening!
