Post subject:  Trouble in the drip zone?

We have a large (40') pecan tree in our backyard. It seems healthy and is not affected by bag worms. :D

However, there are two sheds on the soil well inside the drip zone and very near the root flare. Fortunately, the root flare is exposed so no problem there.

Moving the sheds is not an option for us (although that would be my first choice). I plan to add amendments to the soil I can get to and will be spraying with Garrett Juice throughout our yard on a regular basis.

Will our tree be ok?? Anybody else have experience with this kind of situation?

Thanks!
Cara

How large are the sheds?

Oh, yes. That's an important factor. Sorry!

One is 10' x 12' and about 12' tall, the other is 8' x 8' and about 8' tall. They are on blocks rather than sitting directly on the ground or on a slab.

I'm hoping that makes our situation not so dire. Especially since we plan on diligently following the sick tree treatment and the BOP.

Thanks!
