My daughter bought a 25 yr old home in SA which has an oak that has gradually grown into the stone exterior of the house. Previous owners have modified the stone somewhat and cut notches in the tree. My daughter is concerned that it will ultimately damage the home but does not want to cut it down. Two arborists have told her she must within the next couple of years. The tree currently has mold growing at the sight of the injury to it with all the rain which I thought might be a bad omen. Is there hope of saving the oak?

As the 3rd arborist weighing in on this tree, I'd like to see a photo since being there is a problem. Also what kind of oak is it?

She emailed me several pictures but can you tell me how to get them to this forum or to you?
