I had two large poplars removed from my yard this spring - their roots had destroyed the lawn. I've dug up most of the large roots this past spring but the stump keeps sprouting a mess of new growth. Any ideas on killing this thing dead? I prefer something natural if possible...

Drill holes into the stump and spread dry molasses over it and push it into the holes if you can. This will stimulate the biological activity to rot the stump. Even then, it's normal to have a lot of fungus growth once the wood and roots are breaking down, so be patient.
