Hi guys, about 3 months ago I planted 2 southern magnolias in my back yard. One is doing quite well and the other, not so much. It seems to be stagnant and just barely treading water, so to speak. I've included some pictures of the tree that's doing well and the tree that's not and the leaves on the one that's doing poorly. I planted them both the same way about 35ft away from each other. Not sure what's going wrong. Can you help me?

Are you giving it supplemental water in this drought? If so, how much?

Hi, thank you for your response. Yes, water both the same amount each day. I thought maybe I had some bugs eating one, but not the other, but I don't see any bugs, not that I would know what to look for. I planted both of them the same depth, soil, water, sun, slope, mulch. All the same.

You really don't need to water it everyday, which could be part of the problem. A newly planted tree is usually watered 3x a week. You can put one of those 'gator bags' on each one 1x a week for sufficient watering. I would also use an organic root stimulator.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try that.
