I'd like to see how they look and how they're priced. I have a spot where I could put one.

I'll answer to bring this back up to the top.

Yes, I know of a great place to find them. In fact, I bought 3-4 different maples and a ginkgo from them last spring, and I have to admit - all were in excellent condition and are thriving. I just completed my first year with the Big Tooth, and I can't wait to see how it responds in year 2.

Interestingly, it held onto its leaves later than my red oak this winter. The fall color was unspectacular, but I attribute that to it being stressed and somewhat withered after its first summer on its own.

The proprietor indicated to me last spring that he may stop carrying Big Tooth Maples due to a lack of demand and it being very slow growing in comparison to other maples. I hope that's not the case.

I saw a sign for some outside a nursery in Fredericksburg last week, sorry it wasn't closer to DFW.

Metro Maples is located in the Fort Worth area and has thousands of maple plants to choose from in all sizes and dozens of varieties as well.

Have found a local grower of bigtooth maple trees in Parker County with photos of fall color from actual trees that are for sale. Organic grower, all flares exposed in the containers. (817) 980-0429

My Big Tooth is definitely not enjoying August, 2010. The poor guy is suffering major heat stress.
