We have to cut down a large elm that has been dropping large limbs. We are considering what to plant in its place with an emphasis on native trees and possibly several instead of just one tree. Friends have recommended a high-rise live oak. I'm concerned that this hybrid will not be the same host tree for birds and butterflies as the native live oak. Is this accurate?
