Post subject:  Pine trees are dying

I have three 12 year old pines in a row in my flower beds all about 25-30 feet tall. The middle one died about a month ago rather quickly. It started getting brown and dropping its needles.

Now, the other two are doing the same thing.

They all appeared to be healthy, until this year.

The pines look like either a Ponderosa, Slash or Austrian based on pictures from Howard's books.

I don't fertilize the trees or have I been watering them.

Any ideas on what might be knocking them out? Should I spray them with Garett juice?

Thanks,
Jim

My parents have a couple that dropped all their needles (which turned brown first)... I think it's the intensity of the heat and drought down here this past summer. We fertilized, mulched, and watered them, and now they've put out new needles. Your trees might still have a chance if you give them some help (see the sick tree treatment).

Definitely spray down the trunks often with water+Garrett Juice. Could also add Medina plus, seaweed, fish, Superthrive etc. But do it as often as you can if they're really hurting.

Also, the Alpha Bio Systems Thrive that has come out recently could really help them to more efficiently utilize available water through the roots. We've been using that stuff lately and it's pretty impressive.

Good luck!
