:?:
Does anyone know which plants tend to have deeper roots?

I know that dandelion has a great tap root that grows very deep, but I would like more than just dandelion to help reduce run-off during heavy rain!

Little bluestem and other native grasses are great as well, but I would prefer something with flowers.

Can anyone help? I realize that soil structure has a lot to do with this, but plants are better than just mulch (unless it is close to a tree trunk)!

Dandelions are great, don't get me wrong. I think they are pretty. When you mow them, they come up shorter. 8) Dandelions are often the first flower bees can go to for nectar in spring. It is important that we leave some for many reasons, even if it is just in the backyard.
