Does anyone have experience with pecan mulch? Is it worth the cost? I'm particularly worried about my dogs eating it like they eat acorns.

I would recommend that you use something else. Especially if you have clay soil. Native tree trimmings and cedar mulch are best. It is a good idea to put down some rough cut cedar (larger chunks) down first then put the fine over it. I have had a situation before putting down 3-4" of the fine texture cedar and water was not getting through because it made a sort of mat.
