I've got lots of 4" nursery planters where can I Recycle 'em

Take them back to the nursery. They can use them. My local nursery used to give store credit toward new purchases based on the size and number of pots, years ago. I wish they'd go back to that lovely practice!

I think they only did that when everyone else was doing it also. When a few stopped, they all did. My neighborhood association used to collect the pots and turn them in for materials for the neighborhood park.

Many can be recycled. The reason nurseries don't do that is because diseases and pests can reside inside the pots. A nursery has to spend money to have staff clean it very well and dry. Most nurseries around here don't grow their own plants, which is why you need a stockpile of pots. Nurseries get all their plants in, already potted. Some nurseries have bins in the parking lot for you to drop off your pots to be recycled.
