New here, be gentle! In our 25' X 75' garden I put a lot of composted horse stall manure/pine sawdust litter and just have put a pickup truck load of broiler chicken manure (1st time) and lots of oak leaves. Yields have been better than average in this South Carolina clay.
December soil test:
P 641 lbs/acre excessive
K 1263 " "
Ca 3073 " "
Mg 815 lb/acre sufficient
Zn 41.3 " "
Mn 79 " "
B 2.8 " "
Cu 1.5
Na 211
pH 6.9
Reccomemded addind boron for tomatoes and calcium nitrate for everything.
Am I screwing up my garden? I don't add nitrogen fertilizer but everything seems to do well. What do you reccomend?

In reply to my own post. Phoned the county agent about the excessive items on the soil test and he said he wouldn't worry. Said that the recent applications probably invalidated the results and I shouldn't do anything differently but may retest in perhaps June. I have snooped this site and found about the Texas soil test service using testing procedures whose results reflect nutrient availability and will contact them. Also found that since cold weather slows garden biologic activity winter is not the best choice for testing. I found it interesting that according to the Clemson University web site the organic matter test they run is not good information for the organic gardener and is used for herbaside application as organic matter ties up herbasides. One county agent said chicken house cleanings nitrogen was gone after 30 days but another said diminishing benefits could be seen for up to 3 years.
