This is a pesticide product by Bayer Environmental Science. Acc. to its fact sheet, it must not be sprayed on vegetable gardens. Does that mean that, if such an accident occurs, the soil within 10 feet should be replaced (assuming it was to be used for vegetables)?

I would like feedback, as I frame my comments for the tree care company responsible for this mistake. If there's authoritative text on this available, that too would be helpful.

Don't worry. You have probably consumed this poison many times in your life.
It is a common insecticide to treat spider mites which is one of the most popular treatments for tomatoes! Also common on strawberries.
See below specifics so you can even use this on your vegatable garden, no problem according to Bayer! (Just kidding!)

I wouldn't eat it. You can up detox soil and Howard has some suggestions.
