I was taking my evening walk and saw a nearly fledged crow sitting on the ground along the jogging path. I put him on as high as tree limb as I could. Strange that the parents were not raising a fuss. |

That's sweet. I probably would have had to take him home with me! I don't know if all birds are the same, but I've heard that if you touch a baby bird, some birds will abandon the baby, or even kill the chick. I hope he's ok, though. I love crows. I live in the city. I know people in the country have no reason to like them, though! April F.W. Texas |

The story about baby birds and their parents is oft quoted, but not correct. Parent birds will not abandoned baby birds because they "smell" like humans. It is a good idea to return a baby bird to the nest, if it can be found. |
