I was taking my evening walk and saw a nearly fledged crow sitting on the ground along the jogging path. I put him on as high as tree limb as I could. Strange that the parents were not raising a fuss.

That's sweet. I probably would have had to take him home with me! :?

I don't know if all birds are the same, but I've heard that if you touch a baby bird, some birds will abandon the baby, or even kill the chick. I hope he's ok, though. I love crows. I live in the city. I know people in the country have no reason to like them, though!

The story about baby birds and their parents is oft quoted, but not correct. Parent birds will not abandoned baby birds because they "smell" like humans. It is a good idea to return a baby bird to the nest, if it can be found.
