I was walking around by the Trinity River near the zoo. I saw some big bur oaks and other trees . On top of the bur oaks, were (and are) some big nests of herons. As I walked closer to the trees, all the herons stood up. They were white underneath and grayish I think. Maybe grayish blue.
Some left the nest and soared around. I guess that was to warn other herons the danger (me) is too close. I immediately left as quickly as possible so I would not be threatening. Also to keep
me from being dive bomb
.
Would herons dive domb? Does anyone have seen other nesting herons?
