I am new (about a year) to the Lake Highlands area and have seen so many different birds that I never saw in my old Knox-Henderson neighborhood. Last night, we finally identified the birds I had been hearing for weeks now. The beautiful Cedar Waxwing and their high-pitched eeeee-eeeee call. According to the books we have, they winter all over Texas. I'm just glad I was finally able to get a real good look at the yesterday. They are lovely.

They are really a handsome bird. They hang around until late spring, and sometimes become intoxicated from stuffing themselves on fermenting berries.
