One or more mockingbirds don't seem to know when I am trying to sleep - they keep singing almost all night long. I understand unmated males are the ones that sing at night. Probably good practice as female mockingbirds prefer males that know the most songs.

A friend of mine is letting me post some of his videos on the Birdzilla site. This month it is the Resplendant Quetzal - a fantastic bird.

Mine do that in the spring. It's usually during the few weeks that you can sleeo with your windows open!

Mockingbirds in urban settings have such an amazing array of calls - you gotta love the car alarm call at 3am.

I checked out the video and that bird is gorgeous!!! I had a mocking bird that sounded exactly like a cat in distress! I would go out at all times of night looking for the poor cat until I discovered it was a bird! They are so talented.
