About a dozen Purple Martins have been flying around my backyard this morning, and there are no martin houses nearby. I wonder if they are already starting to stage up for the trip south?

Do Purple Martins take to those houses here, or do you get Grackles and Starlings? Either way, I like birds.

Purple Martins nest almost exclusively in man-made housing in the eastern half of the U.S. House Sparrows and Starlings can be a problem, but not Grackles.
