Two Great Horned Owls calling from my backyard this evening. First time I have heard them in my yard. |

Do they make the "Hooo, Hooo, hoo hoo hoo hoo" sound, in sort of a deep tone? Sorry, I don't know how to type that, but I think I heard one or two of them about 3 weeks ago around north Frisco. |

Yes, Great Horned Owls are the hoot owls, and make the hoooo call. Screech Owls make a call some people describe as a horse's whinny, as well as a trill. Barred Owls make a unique "who cooks for you" call. |
