I had heard on the DD show a few years ago I guess, about being able to do both an application of CGM and then waiting for ? weeks to over seed. Any input on this option? I think it was like 6 weeks. It seems it would be safe to say that per rye could go out in October or early Nov. and be firmly established before our first normal freeze around Thanksgiving. What experience do any of you have? Thanks!

I think most would do it the other way around. They would seed and then go with the CGM after all the seed sprouted.

Well, too late now. I had to make the weather work for me with the CGM and its been about 4 weeks and the seed is scheduled to go out tomorrow. They are irrigated regularly so, hopefully, the residual is gone from the CGM. Their budget didn't allow both a CGM application and a follow up fertilizer after the seed application - that I wasn't sure they were going to do. So I went for it and hopefully caught the best of both applications - killing the weeds and fertilizing the seed's soil bed. Thanks for the reply. I'll see what happens.
