Post subject:  Hello everyone. I'm new.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

My wife and I moved into a new home somewhat recently (Dallas - 75225). Our project for this spring is to redo the front yard landscape and re-invigorate the front lawn.

I suspect you'll see a barrage of questions related to this topic over the next month so - this is my first large scale do-it-yourself landscape project. :-)

Hello and hooray for you!
You will have so much fun, and be the envy of your neighbors who will want to know how they can make their chemically maintained yards look as healthy as your organic one! Just wait 'til July - that's when it really starts to show! And the lower water bills will be fantastic!

Pepper us with questions. We're ready & waiting!

Welcome-
If you are not familar with Xeriscape, please ask or start to do some research. Your water bill will thank-you and your garden will look beautiful.

City of Dallas has offered a good free class on xeriscape in the past - I suspect it will continue with a vengence this year! Take it if you can! I attended years and years ago and to this day, have included lots of the info from Bonnie, the instructor, in my own free classes that I now offer at my shop and in my own gardening. Xeriscape is a process, not just plants you choose.

Also, check out Colorado water dept. website on xeriscape - wonderful source -after all they invented the process and coined the word.

Give us a hollar with any ??'s We're glad to help.
