Post subject:  Hello from new crew member

Hi All

First post here. I live in upstate NY. I grow indoors and outdoors. I was forced to retire early, and I spend a great amount of time with my hobby. Hence the indoor growing as the outdoor season is pretty short here.

I'm the soil and vegetable person in the family. My wife is the outdoor landscaper. (but the backyard garden's all mine LOL).

I've spent a great deal of time building my indoor gardening set-up. What started as a little hobby, has become quite an operation theses days. But the backyard garden is still a favorite.

I like to take the things I've learned indoors, and put them to use in the outdoor garden....Well, it's almost that time of year again.

My hobby has quickly progressed into the growing of soil itself. I find organic soil building fascinating. With each new grow, I look for new/more techniques to build a better living soil.

I'm sure I will enjoy my time here. :D

Thanks for the welcome.

Believe me, I've done an awful lot of reading here already. This looks like a great place. As you all, I'm a firm believer in organics.

I do a lot of research on the internet for organics. Many times an answer would lead right back here. So I decided I should join.

I've already seen some great posts in the short while I've been here. I'm looking foward to learning from others experiences, and helping with mine where I can.

Whenever I run accross some great info, I paste it into one of several folders I have on my computer. I've already added quite a bit to my info collection.

Good luck to everyone with their upcoming garden projects. :D

Welcome to the best website in the world for information on organic and sustainable practices! :D Just out of curiosity, how is the rest of New York on the subject? Do you have many other like-minded individuals there?
From what I understand, the water run-off from your property has somewhat recently become a major issue. You do not want any pesticides in that water. Am I correct? Has there been much of a change as a result?
