I wanted to say hi! I have lurked around for some time and have enjoyed the website, radio show and the discussion boards for several years now. I once sold water treatment chemicals for a living. These included organic and inorganic compounds for treatment of industrial processes including cooling towers, boilers, potable water and waste treatments. It was an exciting experiance that I had over the last 13 years. I do some teaching right now. One course is enviromental health and safety. I do subcribe to a better living through technology and chemistry but there are things we all need to be aware of in using any product. We have found that over use of synthetic Chemicals is not good and mother nature often will suffer. Many Synthetics have a root in nature and often this is the best way to go in the long run. If I can do a better job with a natural product as nature intended then that should be what we do first. I am learning and thanks for providing such a wonderful place for people to share idea's and thoughts. |

duekster- Welcome aboard, and what an open mind and good attitude you have. All of us use chemicals to some extend, who hasn't used a plastic bowl or cup? How many men and women who are "totally" organic get their hair colored with who knows what? If termites were eating my house down and I couldn't stop them organically, I would resort to a chemical. So don't think we are a bunch of radicals who don't have open minds ourselves. We know that there is an organic solution for almost every lawn and garden and home situation where a chemical is used. So why not go the natural way especially when it usually works better and is always safer for you and the environment. You bring a good background and level of experience to the forum. We are all learning at some level. Tony M |
