Hello,
Farmer Jones is a hobby farm in Poetry TX run by Rita Foust and Mel Jones.
We have 3 acres in Poetry, and have been micro farming organically for three years. We have 100 blackberries, about a dozen blueberries, about 20 fruit trees, a large bed of Asparagus, herbs and seasonal vegetables. We've been selling all natural produce sporadically at a local market for a couple of years, but it has been a real challenge to do organically. This year about a 100 tomato plants succumbed to the drought and the grasshoppers are a HUGE problem right now with trying to plant fall crops as they are eating all the starts before they can get established. We've joined to get help and advice to ensure we are using the right techniques to be successful. Mostly we need help sorting though the numerous schools of thought and information that is out there about what to do and what not to do to garden organically.
Thanks in advance!
Rita
