I heard Howard say on his radio show that you could substitute coffee for the compost tea in the Garrett juice formula, i was wondering if it is as effective as the compost tea and does the coffee have to be real strong or will a weaker mix work as well? It certainly would be easy to make up some coffee than to make compost tea.

That's weird because coffee is made by pouring boiling hot water run across crushed beans. The compost tea in Garrett Juice is made by pouring water through compost rich in microbial life and filtering it through sand...likely also rich in microbial life. Coffee is a sterile product while compost tea should have tens of thousands of microbe species in it.

Coffee makes a good substitute not because it's loaded with microbes but instead because it helps grow microbes so well. It is especially good for stimulating fungal growth.
