Will cornmeal work for the white stuff on my zinnia leaves? There are white powdery spots on the leaves that you can rub off with your finger. they appeared after the big rain this weekend in the Dallas area. What is it?

Don't know what it is, but it sounds fungal. Corn meal or corn meal tea should work. I would put a heaping handful under each plant and spray with tea once a week until it is gone. Make the tea by soaking one cup of corn meal in a gallon of water overnight. Then strain and spray.
