Now that I've learned how to grow aerobic microbes.
can anyone tell me how to grow my own beneficial nematodes.

Sure! They exist naturally in all forms of rich homemade compost made from greens and browns!

All homemade compost contains some levels of aerobic bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes, protozoa, beneficial nematodes, etc.. Sometimes they can even contain good macrobes like sowbugs, centipedes, millipedes, earthworms, etc., based on how it was made or processed.

Good nematodes can be bred faster in the soil, in order to overpower the bad nematodes in the soil, by using any biostimulants loaded with extra sugar or molasses products.

Cap't-
How do we know if we have nematodes in our compost-if it's good smelling, dark & like a wrung out sponge do we just assume they're there?

Absolutely! If everything is growing fine in your soil, your soil is dark, crumbly, (may even full of earthworms), don't worry about it.

After you supply the correct forms of organic matter as a food source for the various soil organism species, nature will take care of itself automatically.
