Post subject:  Peach Tree Borer Moth

I have a very young peach tree that my mother in law gave me a few years ago. It had it's first blossoms this spring. We planted the tree in my very small backyard because my back neighbor has two bigger peach trees in her yard. One is up against the fence that her and I share. It's very tall (she has never pruned it) and the branches are growing over the fence. I trim them when I can but her tree is getting very tall for me to prune especially with a fence in between me and the tree. We planted our peach tree because we knew we'd only have to plant one and we'd get fruit with hers being so close. The biggest problem is that she has got borer moths. At least I'm pretty sure after doing a bit of research. We live in North Texas and they seem to be a problem here. This is the second year of the infestation (as far as I can tell). I'm not really sure if she knows what kind of problem she has. She's not very friendly and is preoccupied with other things in her life besides her peach tree. I'm willing to treat the tree but I don't know how to do it organically. I really don't know enough to approach her and explain the problem. So I'm asking for help. Suggestions?? Any help with treating the moths would be very much appreciated. When my tree fruits I want to be able to eat the peaches!!!

Thanks,
Jennifer

Are you seeing holes in the trunk and sap is oozing out?

In the winter, treat it with Dormant or All-Season oil.
