You have aphids because something is wrong with the plant. It might be getting too much water or too little water. Aphids themselves can be knocked off with a strong squirt from the hose or brushed off, but if the plant isn't healthy, more will come back. Once you knock out the existing ones they die, so if you can improve the conditions for the plant you can get past the aphid problem.
I use raised beds for my garden and that has helped a lot with any aphid problems, because my plants don't have "wet feet" from standing in areas that are too moist. I think too much water is more often the problem.
