How do I get / where do I buy beneficial nematodes?

Should they be kept refrigerated before use? Is there a 'freshness date' asociated with using them?

thanks,

They are normally sold at farm feed supply stores in dry large 20 lb bags in my area. The microbes are asleep in a dormant condition at room temperatures inside the bag. Once they hit the soil and the moisture, they start breeding and seeking a host of grub larvae to attack and kill from the inside out as useful soil parasites.

Since dry molasses powder is a powerful biostimulant, you can sprinkle a little with the beneficial nematodes at application time on your soil too.

In San Antonio they come on a little blue sponge (refrigerated). You take it home and wring the sponge out in a gallon of dechlorinated water. Then you spray that water on your yard.

You should be ready to use them when you get them home as they do have a 90 day shelf life even refrigerated.
