I have a swing set made of Redwood. This spring, my girls have been afraid to go in the backyard because of a "bumblebee". So, my wife and I investigated and found what looks like a bumblebee (actually a few of them) boring holes in the wood. Any ideas on what it is and how to get it to leave the swing set alone? BTW, it definitely has a stinger as I could see it's touche hanging out the bottom of the hole. Thanks! |

sounds like carpenter bees to me. "Carpenter bees prefer softwoods like white pine, cedar, California redwoods, and Douglas firs. Simply put: pine bad, oak & maple good." from what I've seen (just during a quick search), there doesn't seem to be a 100% organic way to deal with them. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen it yet. |
