Post subject:  Corn Glueten Meal Location & Application Rate

I. am the owner/operator of a 50 acre grassfed beef ranch and pasture. Mamma cows and calves in residence 24/7, and I need to get ahead of summer weeds: woolycroton, and snow on the mountain specifically. Think I would need to apply corn glueten meal as a pre-emergent and fertilizer. Rotational grazing is not an option at this time due to water availability and fencing costs, but have this in the plans. Suggestions please.

200 lbs. per acre for pre emergent.

It would be more like 850 to 1,700 pounds per acre. The app rate is 20-40 pounds per 1,000 square feet.

I would not bet the farm on CGM's effectiveness as a preemergent. In my experience it takes multiple applications.

How many pairs of animals do you have on the 50 acres? Usually the creative use of wire fencing, garden hoses, and portable troughs can make rotational grazing work on small acreage.
