We made it just fine last winter, but we're going into the second year of severe drought--not news to most. Because of this we must sell our 2006 calf crop. There are 14 calves, no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no pesticides--all pasture raised/grass fed and well cared for. If anyone has the grass/space to raise a calf for their freezer, or whatever, we'd rather sell to individuals than at auction to feedlots. I thought there might be some interest or I would not have posted this "ad" on the forum. Please PM me if you're interested. Pat Akin |

What breed are the calves and how old? Are they cross bred? Is there any Bremer in them? Are they short legged and stockie or tall? Where are they and what are you asking for them? Robert D Bard |

These are the last calves from a Brangus bull that we had before purchasing Mr. Dundee, Australian Lowline Angus. They were born this year, 2006--3 in January, 1 Feb, 8 March, 3 April. The first 4 will be sold first. We've been transitioning to organic since 2003 and plan to build a herd of Angus, but, as you know, it takes time to do this. And the drought hasn't helped! We are 7 miles south of the little town of Hubbard--Hwy 171 & 31 intersects--toward Waco. Thanks, Pat Akin |

We have 4 or 5 heifers between 6-8 months of age left, one steer born in January, and two steers that will be ready to harvest 2/2007. Heifers sell for less than steers. The January steer was attached by dogs when very young. We were just going to keep him for ourselves, but if you're interested, we'll give you a good price on him. Since you want to raise your calves, I doubt you'll be interested in the older steers. We are going to butcher them in February, but would sell them on the hoof. Do you have a trailer to haul the calves? Pat Akin |
