Post subject:  Guinea/Poultry Cage/Coop - Free to a good home

Hi! I have a cage/coop that I used for rearing guinea keets until they were young adults, and it must go. A basic 7'X6'3"X6' frame with chicken wire. There's a covered portion inside for the birds to hide from the rain and a "sun deck" for once they get some flight in their wings. When bad hail was expected, I could also herd the adults into the cage and put a tarp over it for safety.

This cage would be great for any other backyard/suburban guinea or poultry fans who want to get a flock going. Big enough for them to get to adulthood and learn where home is. Also a good way to protect young birds from owls and hawks.

I'll try to post photos below. The cage is free to the first person who can haul it away. If there are no takers by this weekend, I'll be taking the Sawzall to it.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I'm in the mid-cities area.

Someone on the Texas Fishing Forum snagged the cage.

Good luck to all you TX guinea fans! I hope someone else keeps the Bedford flocks going strong.

Just a few points of curiosity...

Are you giving up the guineas?

I've read that they are voracious insectivores. Did you find that to be true?

Where in the mid-cities are you located?

What were the related city ordinances in your city regarding the keeping of poultry/fowl?

TIA
