I have 75 acres south of Gordon, TExas and would like to find a better way to manage them. I had them dozed 8 years ago and have been trying to keep it mowed but wondered if there was some type of organic spray that would slow them down. I know that Howard says they will not grow when there is great soil health such as when they take over a golf course with organics.

The American Indian used fire. If you are not allowed to burn your feild then you will be dealing with this problem almost forever.

We have people down here in the south Hill Country with equipment that rips them out of the ground. Check out the video by clicking here. Once they are out of the ground they have other equipment that will mulch them in place, but you might want to burn the seeds.
